- Filter on the way out, not on the way in - put everything in & let the punters decide what/how they find and arrange.
- Put each leaf on as many branches as possible - it costs little extra, so put items in as many different categories/containers as might make sense.
- Everything is metadata and everything can be a label - see above.
- Give up control - allow others to extend metadata and therefore categorisation and findability.
